About

Portrait of Franklin Tenepo

I'm Franklin, a software engineer living in Nuremberg. Since December 2023 I've been working at Siemens AG alongside my studies, mostly on identity and access tools.

My role there is design and frontend, with some backend work around AWS tooling. Most of these tools are used by customers around the world, so most of the work is understanding how people move between our apps and the identity systems behind them, then shaping interfaces they can get through on their own. I also work on how the objects we manage are created, changed and retired.

Outside of work I build Pruftnet, an open-source packet analyzer. It started as my bachelor thesis at TH Nürnberg. I'm now doing a master's in computer science at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg, where I'm going deeper into cloud architecture and AI integration.

I was building websites for clients before I started university, mostly self-taught from documentation and a lot of videos, and I still learn that way.

Weight training

In the morning

I go to the gym for weight training. I'm not hooked on it, but I see what it does for my health, and on the mornings I go it gives me a first small boost and a sense of having already achieved something.
